Why to teens drink&smoke??

Im a senior in highschool and i kniw alot of teens that talk about nothing but getting wasted..so why do they love drinking and smoking?.is it cool?, is it a stress releaver?, or do they just do it just to to do it?..can somebody further explain?

IDK KNOW Y. personally i dont do it but most people i know do it cause they claim its "fun". In really people don't know how to relax naturally so they drink or smoke cause the stimulant relaxes them so they can be able to be social with others. if you ask me, it sounds like people who do it are just socially retarded and afraid of rejection so they do it so they won't feel any regret
